Site profile
Dungeness A Site is located on a 91 hectare site on the Kent coast. Following 40 years of successful electricity production, it ceased generation at the end of December 2006. The site typically produced 3.2 billion kWh per year – enough to keep 3.65 million light bulbs burning for a year. Decommissioning of the site is now underway, with preparations being made for the final defuelling of the reactors.
